Kijabe Hospital - Bethany Kids
Settled at “Heaven’s Basement” a plateau overlooking the Rift Valley, is the Kijabe Hospital, home of “Bethany Kids” (BK). Bethany Kids has 65 beds and has been in operations since 2003. They have 15 mobile clinics which travel into the districts where the need is greatest. The nurses go and take care of minor cases.  If they need help they can call the hospital.    If a trip to the hospital is required, the nurses explain how to pay for it and try to make it as easy as possible for the families.

One of the outside clinics is near the Somalia boarder in one of the camps.  This care requires full funding from outside sources since these people have nothing.  They are allowed to care for the children though there is usually a 250 waiting list, but for adults, they are only allowed to take 4 per month.  In 2004 they did 400 surgeries. In 2009 they performed over 2,500.

Through support from you and other donors Lift Up Africa has given at grant to Bethany Kids to support continual training of nurses. These nurses are able to provide a life changing service to many communities.

One of the communities that Bethany Kids has continual supported is AIC Child Care Center, another partner to LUA.
