Our History
Springing From The Commitment Of Three Friends...
In AFRICA - a continent challenged by disease, debt, war, poverty, and greed - several thousand ethnic groups speaking hundreds of different languages are coming together to make changes.

Progress, however, is slow because overwhelmed national governments, lacking needed resources, often cannot implement projects that would improve people's lives.

Lift Up Africa is formed

In 2004, friends Bill Longbrake, Rick Levy and Sam Muinde formed Lift Up Africa to create sustainable development projects leading to independence and community ownership. Our projects provide a hand up not a hand out.

LUA's initial work has been in Kenya and Tanzania, where our projects have addressed problems such as disease, hunger, education, and scarce energy resources.
