Grant Guidelines
Lift Up Africa Grant Submission Guidelines
Lift Up Africa supports sustainable, community development efforts that concentrate on fundamental needs like clean water, basic health care, reliable and sustainable food and energy sources, education, and employment.

  • LUA makes small grants that seed projects with growth potential, exhibit community benefit, and are designed to empower people in local areas or communities.

  • LUA prefers to support projects specifically intended as replicable models for export to other localities.

  • Kenya is LUA's primary focus at this time; however, LUA may consider worthwhile projects located in other African countries if they exhibit strong sponsorship and in-country oversight that is judged to be effective.

  • LUA will not support projects that benefit a single individual or any for profit entity.

  • LUA will not accept unsolicited grant proposals but will accept an unsolicited letter of inquiry (LOI).

  • LUA provides financial support only to projects recommended by respected advisors and friends who can vouch for the integrity of the project and who will agree to provide on-the-ground oversight.
